Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Munich

We are looking for a international company and their Manufacturing side close to Munich. Be part of a challenging environment and work of state of the art power converters.

Responsibilities:

• Take over System Engineering responsibilities for new production machines for our Shop Floors (semicon, middle-end)
• Deeply understand application scenarios & given process flows, then transfer them into technical demands
• Design core machine modules such like advanced optical sensors, multi-function process heads (Z-Axis) & Machine Structures
• Run the needed simulation tasks & output thermal working regimes, Eigenmoden & process robustness analysis
• Specify demands on media support (cooling water / light guide / cables / electricity / motors)
• Build agreed demonstrators (module & basic machine) in our local lab, check performance, verify simulation results
• Design & build needed work stations for optic system assembly in our local lab
• Guide & advise in supplier selection, machining process & support local engineering team actively
• Document assembly procedure & transfer Know-How to HQ engineering teams
• Empower & train HQ colleagues in opto-mechanic system design with 3D CAD tool

Requirements:

• Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience in customized machine engineering for high-end applications, preferably in semiconductor industry
• Advanced skills mechanical design software (i.e. SOLID WORKS) & multi-physics simulation (i.e. COMSOL)
• Good knowledge of optical sensor technologies & laser process heads (i.e. triangulation / imaging / cooling / vibration isolation)
• Willingness to take over responsibility & ability to manage project execution in multinational & global teams
• Familiar with EU ecosystem for OEM, sub systems, solution provider, consultants, R&D institutes
• Excellent communication & presentation skills in English; German is a plus
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural & interdisciplinary teams with strong Chinese backbone
