Deine Aufgabe
Dein Steckenpferd sind Red Hat-Linux-Betriebssysteme - hier fühlst du dich zu Hause und übernimmst bei uns die Systemadministration. Deine Aufgaben im Detail:
Zusammen mit deinem Team installierst du Hard- und Software und stellst die IT-Ausstattung bereit.
Wie der Jobtitel schon sagt, bist du bei uns für die Administration unserer Serverinfrastruktur und Virtualisierungsumgebung zuständig - dazu nutzt du größtenteils Automatisierungswerkzeuge, die du mit Blick auf unsere Anforderungen weiterentwickelst.

In deinen Händen liegt ebenso die Administration unserer Firewall und Netzwerkumgebung, einschließlich Planung, Entwicklung und Umsetzung der Netzwerksegmentierung und Zugriffsschutz.
Who is who und wer hat welchen Zugriff - als Admin kümmerst du dich um Benutzerkonten und Berechtigungen.
Mit deinem Background unterstützt du uns auch bei der Umsetzung und Pflege von Sicherheitskonzepten und der Weiterentwicklung unserer SSO-Infrastruktur.
Im IT-Support bist du erste Anlaufstelle für unsere Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen und sorgst dafür, dass Arbeitsplatzrechner und Server rund laufen, insbesondere die Administration von Webservern und Datenbankservern hat deine volle Aufmerksamkeit.
Um einen unterbrechungsfreien IT-Betrieb sicherzustellen, nimmst du im Wechsel mit deinen Kollegen und Kolleginnen an unserer 24/7-Rufbereitschaft teil.

Dein Profil
Wir heißen dich willkommen mit einer abgeschlossenen Ausbildung zum Fachinformatiker für Systemintegration (w/m/d), mit einem Studienabschluss in Informatik oder einer vergleichbaren IT-nahen Qualifikation.
Im Linux-Umfeld kennst du dich bestens aus: Hier hast du Praxis in der Virtualisierung (KVM), Datenbank-Administration (MySQL oder MariaDB), Administration von Webservern und Loadbalancern (Apache HTTP Server, NGINX und HAProxy) sowie im Umgang mit iptables.

Zur Automatisierung von Arbeitsabläufen kannst du mit Programmierkenntnissen punkten, vorzugsweise Python.
Idealerweise bist du fit in Ansible; das erleichtert dir die Einarbeitung in unser IT-Umfeld - wünschenswert ist Erfahrung im Bereich Authentifizierung mit Kerberos, Verzeichnisdienst LDAP sowie Netzwerkadministration.
Von Vorteil sind zudem Kenntnisse in der Administration von Windows-Servern und -Workstations.

We are currently looking for two competent Linux system administrators (m/f/d) to join our service team in Dresden on a full-time, on-site basis.

Job description

The Linux System Administrator will be part of our dedicated service team providing essential IT support. Our team specializes in providing reliable support and service in the areas of networking, security, storage and Linux-based infrastructure.

Working with colleagues (m/f/d), the Linux System Administrator will have the opportunity to contribute to various tasks according to their background and skill level. This includes developing and configuring networks, implementing firewall and security solutions, working with scale-out storage and providing support to virtualized environments (VMWare, Proxmox, Docker). The tasks also include archiving and backup, identity management (IdM) and automated configuration and update management (Ansible).

In view of the diverse skills within our team, applicants (m/f/d) with different IT backgrounds in system and network administration are very welcome. We do not expect applicants to already have experience with all the technologies listed or to take responsibility for all technologies upon hire.

As our clientele is multinational, we offer support in German and English.

Your tasks

The team works with a variety of technologies. Applicants will be expected to contribute to the following tasks depending on ability and experience.

• Support, implement and maintain general Linux-based infrastructure services as part of a team
• Support, implement and maintain monitoring and security solutions such as firewalls and intrusion detection
• Support, implementation and maintenance of Linux-based scale-out storage and backup systems
• Support, implementation and maintenance of virtualization services such as VMWare, Proxmox and Docker
• Making suggestions for improvements to processes and procedures
• Working closely with scientists (m/f/d) to develop systems and structures to meet their research needs

Your profile

• A university degree or equivalent in an IT-related or scientific field - or a good explanation of why your chosen career path gives you equivalent skills
• At least 3 years' experience in Linux system administration
• Basic Linux scripting knowledge
• Knowledge and experience in network and IT security
• The work for this position will primarily be carried out on site. You must therefore live in Germany or be willing to relocate to Germany
• Open-mindedness and a desire to learn about other cultures are an advantage, as our environment is highly international
